Chail SightSeeing

Chail Wildlife Sanctuary

It is situated at a height of 7152 feet and was the preferred hunting ground for the Maharaja of Patiala. Located 63 km from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, it is one of the most well conserved wildlife sanctuaries and one can find a collection of flora and fauna. The Sanctuary offers a rich abundance of greenery with magnificent views and is a paradise for nature lovers and bird watchers.

Kali ka Tibba

Situated at the top of a mountain, Kali Ka Tibba in Chail is a temple dedicated to goddess Kali. A Trek to this serene location is a fun activity and one can encounter various species of animals on the way up. Stunning views and beautiful scenery of the Shivalik Range and the Choor Chandni peak are breathtaking from Kali ka Tibba.

Maharaja’s Palace

Perched on the Rajgarh Hill in Chail, Chail Palace was built in the year 1891. It is popularly known as the “Rajgarh Palace” and is furnished with regal furnishing exhibiting a touch of royal lifestyle. The palace premises include log huts, cottages, dense forests and lawns along with a children’s park, a `lover’s hill, sports facilities and open-air café and is a perfect vacation spot. It is now converted into a Heritage Hotel.

Chail Cricket Ground

This cricket ground is the highest ground in the world at an altitude of 2444 meter above the sea level. The ground was built by the Maharaja of Patiala in 1893. Encircled with thick forests of deodars and pines, the ground comprises of a beautiful tree house at one of its corners. It is now used as a playground by Chail Military School. Though it is a beautiful landmark but not open for sightseeing. One can see it from outside.

Gurudwara Sahib

Situated at the top of Pandhawa Hills, this place of worship was built by the Maharaj of Patiala and is surrounded by beautiful greenery. The stunning Gurudwara structure depicts a confluence of various religions with a sprawling green lawn at the front.

Monastery Chail

It was established in 1975 in a protected pine forest by the 12th Kenting Tai Situpa’s disciples. The monastery has been constructed in typical Tibetan architectural senses and uses the ancient sciences of geomancy.

Mohan Shakti Heritage Park

Situated in one of the most serene location in Solan, it is beautifully planned and built temple-complex, probably the most beautiful one. Each and every God and Goddess idol is sculpted to life-like form. The large hall is full of calm and spiritual ambience with marbled floor and detailed stone craft.
